I was house-mining (read: trying to find room by throwing things out). I found this document from my software hacking on my TRS-80.

The table in the top left shows how the keyboard was layed out. If you read certain memory locations, different letters had different bits changed.

The very top of left there is the flags register for the Z-80.

Bottom left is the ascii code, top right is what the system did for different control keys. The bottom right tells what to write to screen bytes to get different graphics on the screen as well as how to control the cassette player.

GAH... I remember those TRS-80s... blocky expensive things with huge 8" (or was it 5.25" then?) and a really tiny green crt...

I don't miss those paperweights! :)

Do you have any suggestions where to find one to offer it too?

The picture doesn't show it because of the photoshop cleanup, but the paper is horribly yellowed and pretty fragile after 20+ years for generic paper.

Nope. I could look one up. There has to be some sort of TRS80 display or something somewhere. Either that or you could start one :D

I'll ask about it on my livejournal account too

I remember I had to lie to my TRS 80. If I entered the correct date, it wouldn't boot. So I had to give it a date from the past.

You can't graft a new idea on a closed mind.

Ours was a model 4.

If I remember right, you had to enter the date when starting up the computer. However if you entered a date after 1990, it wouldn't boot. So after 1990 we had to lie and enter a wrong date.

But that was a long time ago. It's possible I'm misremembering.
